Restaurant with a focus on acoustics

When you enter a restaurant, it is not only the food that creates the experience – it is also the space, the atmosphere and the sound. With Arku acoustic panels, this restaurant got a ceiling that reduces noise and gives guests peace for conversation, without compromising the raw Nordic look

Good sound = Good atmosphere

When dining at a restaurant, both the food and the atmosphere need to be right. That is why this restaurant in Aarhus chose to upgrade its ceiling with Arku acoustic panels. The result is a space where guests can talk to each other without noisy background sound, and where the raw brick look and warm colours of the interior are supported by a calm sound environment.

The challenge

Restaurants are often characterised by hard surfaces: brick walls, glass and wooden tables. This creates long reverberation and a high noise level that makes it difficult to have a relaxed conversation. Here, a solution was wanted that could improve the acoustics – without changing the raw and cosy expression.

The solution

Arku acoustic panels were installed directly on the ceiling between lamps and installations. The panels are easy to handle, require no acclimatisation and can be adapted on site. The light, natural surfaces create a warm contrast to the brick walls and support the restaurant's Nordic design style.

The result

Significantly less room echo – guests can hear each other
clearly.

Pleasant atmosphere – a space that
invites guests to stay longer.

Aesthetic cohesion – the ceiling works together with lamps, furniture
and raw brick walls.

Sustainable solution – the panels are made from recycled
plastic and can be recycled again.

"We wanted to create an atmosphere where there is room for food and conversation. The Arku panels provide a calm that can truly be felt – by both guests and staff" Owner, Jimmy Holm
